Our Mission

To improve the quality of life for children in need through interactive family activities and by providing the tools they need to thrive at home, at school, and at play.

Our Vision

Our founder and president Richard Genovese started the Take me out to the Ball Game Foundation in 2007 as a way to give back to the community and serve those in need. Our first partner agency was the YES Community Counseling Center in Massapequa, our hometown.

Our vision was to create and fund events for children affected by alcohol and drug abuse. Take Me Out to the Ballgame sponsors events for these kids and their families, including visits to Adventureland, fishing trips, various sporting events, and an annual Christmas party.

Additionally, Take Me Out to the Ballgame works to make sure that holidays are special for the neediest families in our community. We provide hundreds of families with turkeys, hams and miscellaneous gifts for all the major holidays! Recently, with the help and generous support of our friends and family, we began partnering with the Freeport Inn Soup Kitchen and the Angels of Long Island in Patchogue to provide assistance to especially vulnerable families.

We also supply many of the other local food pantries with whatever they need, including canned food, paper supplies, diapers and toiletries. We provide turkeys and hams for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The three main pantries we support are St Martin of Tours in Amityville, Maria Regina in Massapequa and Our Holy Redeemer Church in Freeport.
